Hi everyone, we have an issue related to event data aggregation. Event program data in DHIS2 can only be aggregated to a calendar month, but many of our field teams want to be able to aggregate line list data to the same epidemiological month (4 or 5 weeks) as our aggregated data sets. Does anyone know of a solution/workaround for this? Thanks in advance!
Hi @jschuurmans
Welcome to the community! If I understand the case correctly, the aggregation needs to be based on a specific period which is the start and end of the duration when the event data was calculated? For that case, it’s possible to select “fixed period” rather than relative period.
I’d have suggested to use weekly or daily relative period but I think that doesn’t work since if I understood correctly you want to relay on an epi-date (which is the start data of the event itself?)
Thanks!
Hi @Gassim,
Thank you very much!
In the data entry, we record the data by epi week (for most projects from Monday to Sunday). This data can be analyzed by epi month (four or five weeks aggregated) in the Data Visualizer. For event data, we would like to aggregate the data also by the same epi month period (also for multiple months). So not only by calendar month and ideally without having to select the weeks.
Thanks!
Hi @jschuurmans
Thank you for the clarification. The relative and fixed periods are the ones that are based on calendars; however, have you considered making use of additional dimensions (Additional data dimensions - DHIS2 Documentation)?
Thanks!
Hi @ghassim,
Thank you for your quick response. We hadn’t considered using additional dimensions, but we will look into this.
Thanks,
Jorien
