Ethiopian calendar in Capture app not Updated After Changing the System Calendar

Hi DHIS2 team,

I am working on a DHIS2 instance (version 2.40.7.1) with the calendar set to ethiopian, and the Data Entry App correctly shows the Ethiopian calendar.

However, the Capture App (v100.4.7) still displays the Gregorian calendar UI when users are filling forms (e.g., for tracked entity enrollment or event dates). Even after the latest update, it does not reflect the ethiopian calendar setting.

This affects data entry and causes confusion for users who expect the Ethiopian calendar UI in the Capture App.

Is there a known timeline for UI support of the Ethiopian calendar in the Capture App? Or is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

Yes, I tested in 2.42 version v103 and it’s not showing me the Ethiopian calendar as well. I’m triaging this post to the team. Thanks!

Dear Stephen,

Thank you for posting your issue - can you upgrade to version 101.29.0 or above of the Capture app, and let us know if the problem still persists?

Ethiopian and other non-Gregorian calendars is supported from that version (See Capture App - Summary of releases in February 2025 (v101.24.2 to v101.29.2)) and since you are on 100.4 I am thinking this is the reason you do not see the Ethiopian calendar.

Thanks and let us know
