I’m developer of “Data capture for DHIS2” android app. Currently, I’m preparing a plan for future development of application. It would be great if you could share with your experience of work with dhis2 and suggest which features do you want to see in android client in first order.
This is a nice app. We havent deployed it here but I have been playing around with it and I have noticed
While entering the url and password, the typing is messy you type one character and it duplicates them then you delete and it deletes all. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour?
For section data, the different section are hiden up and not easy to identify can we have prev next buttons insteady and at the end have save ans upload.

As you have mentioned, there are some problems with entering server address. This issue will be fixed very soon.
Regarding navigation: I’ve decided to stick with current implementation of data entry screen, because solutions are hacky or just make it even worth. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward for better solution.
Thank you for advice I just wanted to get more details on where and how application is being used, in order to get better understanding in which way it should be developed.
Best regards,
Araz

Hi Araz, thanks for the good work, and its great that you are getting feedback from the field! Just remember that you don’t have to implement everything people ask for - what i like about your app is that its so simple and clean - make your own judgements and its okay to say no;-)

Another comment: it seems that for single event programmes where capture of longitude/latitude is enable, it seems I have to enter there values to be allowed to do data entry? I don’t think having coordinates should be required for data entry. Also, I looked for a way to use the phone’s GPS to get coordinates, is that supported? If not, it would be a great addition. Also possibly picking the coordinates from a map.

I have also realized that its not synchronizing with the server to populate already entered while online, is this not supported?

I´ve been also trying it out for testing purposes, very good work!
I don´t realy have features to request for production but I´m sure picking up GPS coordinates from a map would be great added value.
I observed some issues,
the app is not picking the “Description of report date” that is assigned when creating the stage, It shows “Incident Date” no matter what is wirtten in there.
I´ve been logging in and out, and when logging in it says “try again” many times… and randomly, in one of them it does conect…
Thanks!

Yes, you’re wright. The module which was responsible for picking coordinates by using GPS was faulty, so I’ve removed it for a while. Currently I’m working on update where coordinates picking will be possible from map.
Hi Marta,
Strange, it supposed to be changed. Will try to find issue.
You’re the second person who has noticed this issue, however I can’t reproduce it on my device. Could you please provide more details about device you’re using and firmware version.
