News

  • Supporting Ebola outbreak response in the DRC & Uganda: Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, supported by local HISP groups, are using DHIS2 to strengthen Ebola surveillance and coordinate outbreak response.   • HISP UiO 2025 Annual Report: The report covers key achievements from a year that saw seven new countries launch national DHIS2 health systems, the rollout of a new 2026–2028 HISP strategy, and advances in DHIS2 for Climate & Health, against the backdrop of global cuts in health funding and international development assistance.   • HISP UiO and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) formalized a partnership to strengthen digital tools for epidemic preparedness. Learn more

  • New partnership between the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and HISP UiO was announced during a side event at the World Health Assembly. Learn more

  • India and Norway signed a memorandum of understanding on digital public infrastructure and digital public goods at a launch event during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Norway that highlighted DHIS2-MOSIP integration. Learn more

  • Cambodia launches national DHIS2 HMIS, with the minister of health calling it a “new revolution” to support the health of the Cambodian people. Read article

  • New WHO guidance on measuring integrated delivery of essential public health functions emphasizes the value of routine use of DHIS2. Read publication

  • HISP network highlights: Last month’s highlights include a Climate & Health track at the IFIP WG 9.4 Doctoral Consortium in Kathmandu, Nepal; Climate and Health fieldwork in Nepal exploring dengue outbreak forecasting with DHIS2 and the Chap Modeling Platform; a validation workshop with Africa CDC in Addis Ababa on the DHIS2 toolkit for surveillance and outbreak response; and education system strengthening work in Nigeria with HISP Nigeria, Unicef, and Ministry of Education stakeholders.   • The June copmonthly highlights interesting discussions on DHIS2 technical topics and implementations, community innovations to be presented at the Annual Conference, and ways to get engaged — including recognizing active members and taking the DHIS2 challenge. Check out the copmonthly

  • DHIS2 community action helps get bug fixed in Chrome: Community members reported a bug affecting date pickers and calendar components across multiple DHIS2 apps, traced to a recent Chrome update. The DHIS2 engineering team invited the community to “+1” the bug report to get it prioritized and fixed for Chrome users worldwide. Read the conversation on the CoP.

  • Join the DHIS2 Annual Conference: The June Developer Meetup has been canceled in favor of the Annual Conference. A curated list of conference sessions of interest to developers is available on the Community of Practice, and registered participants can vote for the winner of the 2026 DHIS2 App Competition.
