  • Strengthening cancer surveillance in Jamaica: Jamaica’s Ministry of Health and Wellness has implemented DHIS2 to create a centralized digital platform for real-time cancer data collection and analysis, supporting earlier detection and better patient tracking.
  • Climate & Health project achievements: HISP UiO successfully completed the “proof of concept” phase of its Wellcome-funded project, developing open-source tools for climate-health data integration and AI-powered predictive modeling across 10 countries.
  • DHIS2 in Norway: Several organizations in Norway are utilizing DHIS2, including the Norwegian Institute of Public Health for municipal health dashboards—which won the 2025 eHealth prize—and the Norwegian Red Cross for tracking Easter holiday accidents.
  • New partnership with IFRC: The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with HISP UiO, becoming a DHIS2 Institutional Partner.
  • New country projects: HISP UiO and partners launched health information system integration in Angola and a national education data hub in Sierra Leone.
  • Global community updates: Recent highlights include Africa CDC naming DHIS2 as a key tool for digitizing public health systems and a new paper detailing Zimbabwe’s successful transition from paper to digital health data.
  • HISP network highlights: Last month featured climate and health field work in Rwanda, a DHIS2-iHRIS integration workshop in Ethiopia, and a JICA workshop in Oslo regarding Digital Maternal and Child Health Handbooks.
  • Annual Conference deadline: The early-bird registration and payment deadline for the 2026 DHIS2 Annual Conference and Climate & Health Academy has been extended to April 15th.

  • WorldPop Global2 dataset: High-resolution annual population estimates (2015-2030) are now available in DHIS2, supported through the Maps app, Import/Export, and Climate Tools.
  • Updated Tracker guidance: Documentation for integrating tracker and aggregate data has been updated for DHIS2 v42 to include recommendations for using the new Program Disaggregation.
  • Cancer Registry Toolkit: This new toolkit, developed with Vital Strategies and IARC, helps countries establish population-based cancer registration by operationalizing international standards and built-in quality checks.

  • New Tutorials: New educational materials are available focusing on data quality, including dataset completeness, timeliness, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Upcoming Webinars: Registration is open for sessions on Immunization microplanning with WorldPop data (April 23) and a deep dive into epidemiological surveillance features in the Maps app (April 15).
  • Workshop recordings: Recordings are now available from the Kigali workshop on spatiotemporal modeling of climate-sensitive diseases and various recent webinars covering maturity assessments and the Data Quality Workbench.
  • Francophone Academy: A DHIS2 Data Quality Academy will be held in Dakar, Senegal, from April 20 to 24, 2026.

  • CoP Monthly: The monthly roundup features community contributions, a new “DHIS2 metadata series,” and recognition for active members on the Community of Practice.

  • April Developer Meetup: Scheduled for April 9th, this session will cover DHIS2 performance testing infrastructure and core principles for accessible app design.
  • 2026 App Competition: Submissions for innovative custom applications and extensions are open until May 1st, with finalists presenting at the Annual Conference.
  • Updated App Hub requirements: Guidelines now strongly encourage developers to use DHIS2 Routes for credential handling; maintainers are requested to migrate existing apps before June 15th.
