DHIS2 joins FAO's pre-launch of the Inventory of ICT for One Health (21 July)

FAO will pre-launch its new Inventory of ICT for One Health in an open webinar on 21 July 2026 (15:00–16:15 CEST, online), with DHIS2 participating in the panel discussion. Registration is open via fao.zoom.us, and full details are available on the event page.

The inventory is a decision-support resource that enables countries to compare digital tools across the human, animal, plant and environmental health sectors — by purpose, functionality, interoperability, cross-sector applicability and implementation context — supporting informed tool selection, cross-sectoral harmonisation, and the identification of gaps for future digital investment. The webinar will introduce the inventory ahead of its full launch at the FAO Global Conference on One Health in Agrifood Systems in September 2026.

The session offers an opportunity to situate the community’s work within this wider landscape. Rather than developing a new tool for each emerging threat, the approach demonstrated across the HISP network is to bring data from multiple sectors and sources together within a single platform — enabling human, animal and environmental health data to be integrated, analysed and shared through DHIS2, as seen in Burkina Faso’s shared One Health instance across the Ministries of Health, Livestock and Environment, and in community-based surveillance in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Indonesia.
Further information is available on the DHIS2 for One Health page.
