We are excited to announce the release of the FHIR IG Generator App version 1.2.0! This app enables you to create FHIR Implementation Guides (IGs) based on DHIS2 tracker program metadata.
FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) is a standard for structuring and exchanging healthcare data. As part of our effort to bridge DHIS2 with FHIR, the first version of the app focuses on automatically generating conformance resources, including logical models and structured content resources like questionnaires. Logical models provide structured representations of DHIS2 metadata, while questionnaires offer a flexible way to model data collection forms - aligning well with DHIS2 program stage structures. These resources offer a generic yet FHIR-native way to represent DHIS2 metadata without tying them to specific FHIR resources or profiles.
With the app, you can configure the Implementation Guide, select tracker programs, and transform DHIS2 tracker metadata into FHIR artifacts. The app generates a local IG bundle, ready for use with external tools like SUSHI. A DHIS2 instance with at least one tracker program is required, and the app is designed to streamline the IG authoring process.
The IG Generator App is on continuous release, compatible with version 2.39 and above. You can download the app from the DHIS2 App Hub. If you have any questions or feature suggestions, feel free to reach out!
