We are pleased to inform you that Version (2.5.0) of the Android Settings web application has been released.
This version has mainly added the following features:
- Custom intents configuration
This feature enables integration between the DHIS2 Android Capture App and external Android applications by allowing the Capture App to launch another app, pass values to it, and then receive a returned value.
The returned value can be automatically inserted into the Capture App during search (for tracked entity lookup) or data entry (for tracked entity attributes or data elements), depending on how the intent is configured.
- Sync configuration based on working lists
The Android Settings Web App (ASWA) now allows administrators to configure synchronization based on working lists defined in the Capture web app. After assigning these working lists in ASWA, the Android app will download data according to the lists the user has access to.
If the user has access to multiple lists, the Android app will automatically merge them into a unified set of records for offline use.
This ensures that users only download data that is relevant to their work while reducing sync time and device storage usage.
Full list of features and bug fixing can be found here
This web app is compatible with DHIS2 versions 2.40 through 42. We recommend always using the latest patch versions.

If you plan to use this web app, the following considerations should be taken:
-
The use of this app will overwrite the local settings of all Android devices using the DHIS2 Android Capture app for a given DHIS2 instance.
-
If you select the encryption checkbox, it will affect the local database of all Android devices synchronizing with the server for a given DHIS2 instance.
-
This version is compatible with the previous versions, which means that the settings stored from those versions will apply.
