DHIS mobile options

Dear friends.

May I ask how many options there are for accessing DHIS2 via mobile?

We have quite a diverse set of devices over here in the Philippines. The HISP Vietnam team has graciously shared their jars with us for Nokias. Are there other clients for other devices such as BB, iPhones, and Androids?

The idea is to have one web DHIS2 portal but accessible by different devices…

many thanks!

Hi Alvin,

The Java client works on any phone that runs plain J2ME, which unfortunately does not include iPhone or Android handsets out of the box, though it is possible BlackBerries generally support Java:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/index-139239.html

However, with the 2.5 version which is to be relased this coming week, we will have a browser based client which should work very well on any smartphone, as well as cheap feature phones that have for example Opera Mini installed.

The first version requires a connection, future work will look at using html5 for offline on mobiles, like we already have for pcs.
