DHIS 2 installation on ubuntu server- dhis2 2.26 War file fail to be executed

I have followed the installation guide and completed all the steps several times but dhis 2 is still not running. Can someone help me out please? below is the content in the catalina.out

Am assuming you used the tomcat7-user package to install the container. It might be that your configuration of the catalina.base vs catalina.home is mixed up. Your catalina.base is supposed to be the director you specified when creating your instance using the tomcat7-user package. while catalina.home could be /usr/share/tomcat7.

For starters you would want to know this. Try to run this command

ps aux | grep catalina

check for -Dcatalina.base and -Dcatalina.home in the output.

Thanks Paleu. I finally sailed through. I had to install tomcat 8, jdk 8, postgresql 10 and version 2.29 of DHIS2. I am so happy.

The post initially read Ubuntu server.:smile: But good to know you have solved it.

In fact I was trying it on both operating systems.
