Default Dashboard map providers

Hello all,

I’m just wondering if there is a way to quickly change the default providers maps on the dashboard for version 2.23? Below is the current default map provider for the dashboard which is using MapQuest / OpenStreetMap and as of July 11th they have stopped working due to a change in there policy found here. Any advice would be great.

Best Regards,

Frank

Hey Dan,

Thank you for the reply, this is found in the GIS app correct? However I would like it to display on the dashboard as well. I’ve tried overwriting the current favorites while OSM Light is checked but it does not update the default map provider to OSM light w=once refreshed it goes back to Openstreetmap/Mapquest. Is there a newer version that I need to Download or a hidden setting somewhere that I’m not finding?

Best regards.

Confirming this: when updating the favorites, my maps are set back to Google
Streets, which I used when creating the map favorites (current version is 2.23,
Browser Mozilla).

Thank you much,

I’ve tried updating favorite maps to OSM then going to Reports → Analytics → Start to Rerun the Analytics. Still displaying OpenStreetMaps / MapQuests nonworking maps on dashboard.

I’ve also tried creating a new OSM and Google map and added them to the dashboard, but once the dashboard is loading them as OpenStreetMaps / MapQuests.

Any other thoughts? Setting I’m missing in config or do I have to manual edit the code / update to a newer version.

Thanks in Advance,

Frank

Hi,

I’m not able to reproduce this in 2.24, so please upgrade to the latest DHIS 2 version if you can.

I’ll fix this for 2.23 next week. We will also replace the nonworking MapQuest map with another provider.

Hi Frank,

I’ve now made “OSM Light” the default basemap for both DHIS 2.23 and 2.24, and named it “OpenStreetMap”. For 2.25 we’ll look for an additional basemap provider with a more detailed look (maybe Stamen Terrain which is not yet launched globally). You can also use the basemaps from Google, but it will decrease the performance of the DHIS 2 GIS app.

Please notify me if you run into any other mapping problems!
