We have dhis servers which have been running on version 2.1, 2.2 and 2.4 within our regional office but our central server is running on version 2.12. The database from these regional exported in the metadata format. But when we are trying to import these metadata to the central server we are having error. Please is it compatibility issues or is there any workaround for this issue.
Kindly note it is important because we are trying to upgrade these regional servers within the steps of the various version on to version 2.12 and these metadata will be needed to for these regional servers as well as the central server.
sorry but we deliberately broke compatibility of data value import in version 2.8, where the exchange format for data values was changed from DXF1 to DXF2.
So you must either:
upgrade the region offices to 2.12, and then make export files which you import into the central server, or
install a dhis version 2.7 or earlier and import there, then upgrade to version 2.12.
I think the last option will be pretty hard since we don’t support that version anymore and we don’t support downgrades of versions on existing databases. So I will recommend the first option, unless it is practically impossible.
