Data Entry App: Organizational Unit Tree Issue

We are experiencing a critical issue with our data entry application. All facilities within a specific district are currently unable to capture data.

The core problem appears to be with the organizational unit tree for that district, as it is not functioning correctly. We are unable to expand the district to see or select individual facilities, which is a required step for data entry. This is preventing all data capture activity for the entire district.

Hi @Tinashe_Pisira

Welcome back to the community!

Do you have administrator privileges to check the configuration? The OU needs to be correctly assigned and shared with the data entry users. For instance, if you have access to an ALL user, are you able to see these OU? How are they configured in the Maintenance app?

Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback.

Yes, I have administrative privileges. I have verified that the organizational units are correctly assigned to the user and that they have the necessary data entry rights. Interestingly, they were able to capture their monthly returns without any issues last month, and the problem has only started occurring this month.

In the maintenance module, I can still view all the facilities for the district. Attached below is a screenshot showing how the facilities are configured in the system.

You’re welcome! Okay, thank you for the information and it’s good that you have access so we can debug this issue and find out what’s happening.

Any changes that have happened since then?

With this account, in the Data Entry app, are you able to view these OUs? But the data entry users in that district can’t?

It would be helpful if you check the sharing settings (from the Users app) for the users who can’t view the OU.

Another question, could you please share the version of the DHIS2 instance that you are using as well as which version of the Data Entry app?

Thanks!

From my side, I am also unable to drill down to the district facilities using the OU tree. I can only access the facilities through the search function.

The sharing settings is okay i have checked

DHIS2 Version 2.40.4.1 Data Entry Version 101.0.20 installed

Thanks!

Could you check the configuration for your user? Are these OUs also assigned to your user for data capture and maintenance?

Interesting! If we role out the sharing settings then we will need to check everything else. Could you test clearing the application cache and reloading apps from Maintenance in Data Administration app? I would also test some of the other options especially the OU related ones and then run the resource tables.

Good to know that the app is the latest version :+1:

Is there a chance to run an update because there’s been quite a number of fixes in the latest patch releases patch-releases . For 2.40, currently, the latest is 2.40.8.2: DHIS2 patch release 2.40.8.2 is now available - [HOTFIX]

I followed your instructions, but unfortunately there was no change. We then tried assigning the district facilities to the user one by one, and it is now working. We will proceed with upgrading our DHIS2 to the version you recommended, as this might help us fully resolve the issue.
