Data entered in few fields in the tracker capture event disappears once browser cache is cleared

I have configured a tracker program with multiple program stages (representing quarters). Each program stage contains multiple sections with many data elements capturing specific values.

We are encountering an issue where, if we enter data into the tracker capture for a specific stage and then clear the browser cache before the event is completed, some of the entered data disappears, requiring us to re-enter them. This becomes particularly challenging when there are many sections to fill.
As stated in the documentation, the data entered in tracker capture is meant to be saved automatically (as indicated by the field turning green once data is entered). Therefore, this issue should not be happening. Could anyone please provide a solution for this?

I have tried to reproduce the error you’re encountering but I haven’t experienced similar behavior. I’m using Dhis2 2.41 instance and a chrome browser. Which browser are you using, maybe a browser specific issue :thinking:

AS @salad.guyo mentioned, would you share more details such as DHIS2 version and the version of the app you are using?

I see that you are referring to the Tracker Capture app? Would you please try the Capture app instead?

We are currently using DHIS2 version 2.39.5 and a Chrome browser.

Also, we are only using the Tracker Capture web app and not the Android one.

We are open to trying the Capture app, but we are concerned about the feasibility of transitioning to it at this stage. Data collection is currently ongoing at a large scale, and all training sessions were initially conducted using Tracker Capture. Given that users are now familiar with Tracker Capture, it may be challenging to retrain them on a new app.

I tried to reproduce the issue on the Tracker Capture app itself and I’m not seeing the issue you are facing. Here’s a recording:

Please check if you can update your instance. See if you can share a screen recording with both Network and Console drawer open (DevTools F12)
