Data elements not available for insertion on custom forms

Hi!

I’m having a problem with data elements not appearing in custom data entry forms.

When editing the custom form, the list of data elements is just empty for every data set. Totals and indicators show up fine; data elements are added to the data set. Problem appeared after migration from 2.16 to 2.17.

Cache emptying etc doesn’t resolve this issue. Haven’t been able to recreate at the demo 2.17.

Any thoughts?

Cordialement,

I would start by looking in your JavaScript console for any error message which you might have there and posting here. You can also include your Tomcat logs which might reveal what is going on.

Do you have any non-ASCII characters in your data element names?

Jason

Hi Gijsbert and Jason,
They are using dhis2 2.17 version build 17590. When we do design data entry form for any data set. I see error in browser console (show below). I tested

I tested the same burundi database with my version of dhis2 2.17 (Build revision: 17582) and I also tested it with latest version of DHIS2 17618 i can see the data element listed and can assign the data elements to the custom forms.

I guess Gijsbert better to update the dhis2 version.

Regards,

John

Heya,

The console errors you’re seeing are because the calls to icontent.us do not have a correct certificate.

If you go to the url directly you can see the browser will ask for this.

https://icontent.us/ad/report/?mid=&wid=49379&sid=35906&tid=98&rid=BEFORE_OPTOUT_REQ&jsonp=window.__twb__620531d66a.reportSetCallback&t=1417707760887

Not sure if fixing that will help your problem disappear but it might as i assume you’re doing some custom stuff there.

Kind regards,

Mark Polak

Looks like a browser hijack to me. Are you sure these requests are coming from the form itself and not your potentially hijacked browser?

Heya,

The console errors you’re seeing are because the calls to icontent.us do not have a correct certificate.

If you go to the url directly you can see the browser will ask for this.

Not sure if fixing that will help your problem disappear but it might as i assume you’re doing some custom stuff there.

I tested the same burundi database with my version of dhis2 2.17 (Build revision: 17582) and I also tested it with latest version of DHIS2 17618 i can see the data element listed and can assign the data elements to the custom forms.

I guess Gijsbert better to update the dhis2 version.

Hi John

I found your videos on youtube very useful. I am tracking activities on a work plan with several repeatable stages e.g. for building hospital the stages are clearing, foundation, superstructure etc. I created a program called infrastructure development. I have created attributes of an activity after creating the option sets. I have also created the data elements. However when I go to create the program stages the data elements do not appear. Any idea what step I could have missed

Hi guys,

I am new in this group and still learning about dhis2.
I have downloaded and installed Dhis2 and linked it with Postgresql on my laptop. How can I do to make it available to other users that I have created, I want them to access the database over the internet.

If anyone can help I would be grateful

best regards,

Hi Norberto,

for that you will need a server which is connected to the internet.

You can read more about server installation here:

You can read more about hosting of DHIS 2 here:

Hi guys,

I am new in this group and still learning about dhis2.
I have downloaded and installed Dhis2 and linked it with Postgresql on my laptop. How can I do to make it available to other users that I have created, I want them to access the database over the internet.

If anyone can help I would be grateful

best regards,
Norberto Banze

How should I proceed

I am following the steps that come here Developer Resources - DHIS2

If you need a server I propose you go with a hosted solution, as described on our website.

Regards,

Knut

Are you sure you are connected to the Internet? maven needs to download a lot of components, so be sure you are on a fast line. Alternatively, you can always get the latest build from https://apps.dhis2.org/ci/.

Hi Simon,

I think you will need a later version of DHIS2. Try and see if it works on the demo server. See here for more info.

Hi Simon,

Please check the data element domain type of the data element you have created. The data element domain type should be tracker to appear in the program stage data element list.

Please also let me know which version of dhis2 are you using.

Regards,

John
