Data element type [Organisation unit] Display UID

Dear DHIS2 users,

We have been using the data element with the type organisation unit but unfortunately the system displays the UID of the org unit selected. The end users at facility are not familiar with the codes.

Do anyone know how to display the name rather than the UID?

Hi Andrew,

we have corrected this in version 2.26. According to a previous thread it was a larger piece of works which is not likely to be back-ported. Sorry about that.

best regards,

Lars

Dear Andrew.

We reported this to the developers and they said its an issue they are looking into… probably in that next release it will be solved.

Subject: [Dhis2-users] Data element type [Organisation unit] Display UID

Dear DHIS2 users,

Hi team, is the issue solved completely?
I used events report and face the same issue.
The element was created as tracked entity attribute.

DHIS2 version 2.26.4

Hi @mutali,
I’m sorry the screenshot doesn’t show exactly what the issue is. What part of that image isn’t the way it’s supposed to be? Also, is there a chance to upgrade? It’s recommended to upgrade to one of the latest versions at least 2.34.7. If you decide to upgrade, please follow the instructions: Upgrading - DHIS2 Documentation

Hi @Gassim yes it displays not a user-friendly value.
uid orgunit instead of a name.

You might want to upgrade since you are using a very outdated version! ( :

Hi @Gassim , I tested that on 2.36.4 ( not 2.26) sorry

Okay thanks!
Could you write the steps to preproduce this issue on https://play.dhis2.org/2.36.4? Thank you!

  1. create an tracked entity attribute with value type orgunit
  2. add the tracked entity attribute to child program
  3. Using Tracker App, open one person in Njandama MCHP, edit profile of a person and and add orgunitattribute, e.g: Bo
  4. Run analytics
  5. event report, list line , enrollment, orgunitattribute
  6. this will display Bo uid instead of Bo as name
I just save one report in case u check before the server reset DHIS 2 Demo - Sierra Leone

Thank you for pointing this out @Calle_Hedberg! I also see that Date and time data type doesn’t display in event reports - https://jira.dhis2.org/browse/DHIS2-7107 was created in 2019 but thanks @mutali for bringing this up to the community as well.
