Data approval for tracker data model

Hello. Is it possible to have data approval workflows or a way of ensuring there’s a way to have tracker data approved? Just like we do for aggregate data? @Markus @Scott @mike

Hi @dkusiima

Thank you for your post. You brought up a topic that has been for quite a time and fortunately there are related ideas in the roadmap.

To begin with, it would be greatly helpful if you could share more about the context and use-case where this is required as this will back-up the need for these features and their implementation.

First, there’s been a workaround suggestion (by @jthomas) in the CoP which uses a program stage + authorities to implement an ‘approval scenario’: Workaround for data approval in tracker capture - #2 by jthomas

Second, currently the Roadmap ideas currently focus on making use of user authorities, Jira (@Karoline following up on these).

Could it be that, depending on your scenario, a ‘block entry form after completion’ might be sufficient?

Thank you!

Hello @Gassim , thanks for your response. So the context and use-case is that we update health worker training information everytime they attend a training. So the health worker is the tracked entity and each training they attend is an event. However, we would like MEL managers to approve the entries of trainings before they are reflected in analytics apps as trainings conducted / attended which is a program indicator. I hope this provides more context.

We considered block entry form after completion, however, we would need the data entrants to make edits based on recommendations from the MEL managers.
