Custom period in pivot table

Hello community

I am wondering if someone of you have experience working with periods that are not included in the relative periods.

This is what I am trying to do:

Jan-Apr May-Ago Sep-Dec
ou1 % % %
ou2 % % %
…. % % %

My denominator is in a monthly dataset (there is no data entry for every four months), my data is an event program.

Any idea would be really appreciated

Thanks

William

Hi @waviles

It’s always helpful to mention the use-case. For instance, there’s a feature request (see ideas) to create an ‘academic year’ period and the use-case explains why this is needed in the EMIS implementations (Log in with Atlassian account). Additionally, here’s the community post and how that issue was handled (see the post marked as the solution): Academic Year Filter in Standard Report

There isn’t currently an out-of-the-box way to create the custom periods as you described. But it will be quite helpful if you could share more about the use-case?

Meanwhile, I will triage this to the team and ask if we could create a ‘feature request’ (idea). Thanks!

Hello @Gassim

Thanks so much for your response. I don’t think this is a use case you will see very often.

It is related to 4 months supervision round goals.

  • First two months of visits
  • Third month data review meetings and action plan
  • Fourth month to implement those actions.

Users are able to see month to month progress for visits, however, they really want to see the table I described in the post in the front dashboard, to show the indicators for those time periods as a whole. Not sure i described it precisely, but i will think of some workarounds.

Best

Hi @waviles

It’s good to know that you’re thinking of workarounds. The feedback I received from @jason was that this is not possible but it is possible if you’d design custom reports and use the API.

Please feel free to share as you to delve into this initiative of yours as it might be helpful for other community members too!

Thank you!
