Converting Global Number Format to Indian Number Format in DHIS2

Dear DHIS2 Team,

By default, DHIS2 displays numeric values in the global number format (e.g., 1,000,000). However, in India, the commonly used format is the Indian numbering system (e.g., 10,00,000).

I would like to know if it is possible to configure or enable the Indian number format within DHIS2. If this option can be made available, it would be very helpful for dashboards and reports, as it would present the data in a more meaningful and familiar way for Indian users.

Kindly let me know if there is any existing configuration, localization option, or enhancement planned for this feature.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Venkatesh

Hi @venkatesh.bojja

Welcome back to the community!

I can understand why you want the number format to change to Indian number format regarding the placement of the separator. Currently, it’s only possible to change the separator itself (comma, space, or none), but not the formatting.

First, would you like to create a feature request? See ideas.. if you do, please share the link to the idea here so other community members can add their comments.

Second, maybe for now choosing the separator as none will be less confusing for the users? If that would temporarily help, you can select None in the Analytics Settings in the System Settings app (see screenshot below):

Thanks!
