Changing username

Hello community,
We are using emails as usernames for our DHIS2 instance. Users are reporting changes to their emails. I am not able to change the usernames in the users app. Does this mean I need to create a new account with the correct email and disable the old account?
Appreciate any guidance on the best approach for managing these types of situations.

I think that in this case the best way to solve this is by “replicating” an account and giving it a username with the new email address.

This is what we thought we had to do. I guess we would just disable the username with outdated email address. We were hoping changing username would be an option.

You could also try updating it from the backend database directly and test whether it’s not breaking anything. Not officially recommended i guess, but worth trying perhaps

Thank you all. We have gone with the safer option of replicating user with correct email and disabling the user with incorrect email.
