Bulk Load App for 2.40

Will the bulk load app, which is compatible with DHIS2 2.40, be released soon?

cc: @ifoche, how are you doing?

Thanks,
Derebe

Dear @Derebe . We will very likely plan for it to be implemented by Q3 2024.

I hope that is aligned with your needs.

@ifoche thank you. I actually needed immediately. I was using it in my previous version and updated my software without known that it is currently incompatible.

I am sorry for that. If some organization supports any earlier release we will do earlier, but if not… the current expectations are those ones.

Dear @ifoche

I just wanted to follow up on this please. Do we have an estimate which month in Q3 can we expect the release of the DHIS2 2.40-compatible version of Bulk Load? We are upgrading to DHIS2 2.40 soon and we plan to do this ideally around the time of the new BL release.

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Let me get back to you by the end of the week to have a better estimate of when it should be ready, my colleagues are working on it.

Hi @Chari,
Miquel from @eyeseetea here.
We have initially tested bulk load on dhis2 40 and it works correctly on our side.
We still have some tests to run before release but it would be great if you were to also use it and let us know if it works for you.

To use ir you just need to install bulk load from your dhis2 app management from a zip file instead of using the app hub.

You can get the zip file from here:

Please let us know how that works for you.

Thanks!

Hi @MiquelAdell,

Thank you for providing the test version link. Also apologies for the delay in my response. We have tested it briefly, and observed that it did not include GPS coordinates in the imported data. I also downloaded a program template populated with event data and the coordinates were also not included.

We were able to import/export coordinates in the older version, and were hoping it would be also be included in this new version. BulkLoad is a pretty impressive and easy-to-use tool and it would be awesome if it be included soon.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Chari

Hi @Chari
This was fixed in version v3.24.0

  • Include geometry property in event/tracker program import and download
But be sure to get version 3.24.1 that includes some bugfixes

Let us know how that goes!

Dear @MiquelAdell and @ifoche

I hope you are doing well.

I wanted to check if there are any updates on the compatibility of bulk upload with DHIS2 version 2.41. I attempted to use the latest version of the bulk load app with v2.41 but encountered an error while downloading a template with data and also when uploading a single TEI. Please find the screenshot attached below for reference.

Could you kindly confirm whether this issue can be resolved or if a new version of the application will be released for v2.41?

I appreciate your time and assistance.

Best regards,
Akash

Hi Akash,

We do have a release that should fix this issue but we have not prepared the release in DHIS app Hub. This DHIS app hub release is planed for this week.

You can download the release in our repo and install it with “manual install”

I hope this works for you,

EDIT: we have just released version 3.26.0 of Bulk Load in DHIS2 App Hub, you should be able to find it there.

Thank you so much @MiquelAdell

Your support has been extremely helpful, and I sincerely appreciate it. The functionality is working well now. However, I have noticed that there is no option to retrieve the latitude and longitude captured during enrollment when downloading the template with data from the app.

This is causing an issue when we download the data into the template, make updates to some attributes/elements in the Excel file, and then import it back. In such cases, the existing latitude and longitude captured during data entry get deleted, which affects the accuracy of our records.

Would it be possible to include an option to retain the latitude and longitude during this process? Your guidance and support on this would be greatly appreciated.
