Bulk Load App Compatibility Issue with DHIS2 2.41.4

Hello everyone,

I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this:

It appears that the Bulk Load App is not currently compatible with DHIS2 version 2.41.4, even though it works perfectly with version 2.41.3.
I tested this behavior on the DHIS2 Play instance to confirm.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Is this a known compatibility problem, and if so, is there any update on when it might be resolved?

I am Miquel, project Manager at EyeSeeTea, developers of Bulk Load.

Sorry to inform you that this is a known issue with the core DHIS2.

We did report this here and the DHIS2 Team is working on that.
We really hope there will be a fix soon as this is impacting Bulk Load but also other apps in the community but we can not give you a timeline as this is caused upstream.

The only solution we have right now is staying in DHIS2 v41.3 until there is a fix. I hope this can work for you.

Thanks to both of you, just to confirm that I recently noted the same issue.
I take the opportunity to extend a BIG THANKS to EyeSeeTea for this marvellous app. As I do not master JSON files and other gadgets, the Bulk Load app is my lifeline and I am looking forward to continue using it.

Hi all,

the DHIS2 team has released a hotfix for 39,40,41 that fixes this issue.
We have tested with bulk load in a play instance successfully.

You can see all three releases in anouncements but for example this is the post for 41:

So when you mean incompatible what do you mean?

I have been having this error after changing instances of my deployment. Is that what was happening for you too?

Hi, this I noticed in v.20.40.0.1 and one of my instances on 2.40.5

Is this the same error that was being produced during the discussion on its incompatibility?

If you are using version 40 then you need to update to at least version 40.8.2 for the Bulk Load app to work. @MiquelAdell , I hope I’m correct?

version 40.4.2 of DHIS2 would do. And yes, I’m quite sure the error is related.

I haven’t experienced any success yet.

Sorry, I meant that it was on one of my instances running 2.40.0.1 which I later upgraded to 2.41.5 and it’s still there.

Though what is interesting is that I have two other instances running 2.41.5 and Bulk Load works fine on there.

If you upgraded your instance, then the issue is somewhere else, you are right.

I think this may be some interaction between metadata and permissions.

Could you try to isolate the error by exporting a “subset” of that? For example, changing the period. If it is a data set exporting form a copy with the same data elements and reducing it.

Maybe that can point to the source of the error.
