App Management - Application installed version?

Hello,

Inside App Management, for an app not manually updated, in my opinion is not clear which version is installed.

Is this image the installed version on the system?

If it is not, how to know what version is already installed?

Because after click on Install, now it is clear which one is installed:

Maybe on the first image, this information could be shown to make it more understandable. It is only a suggestion / improvement.

Thanks a lot,

I do totally agree with you, or maybe the version of the app should appear inside the app like in the “Report Builder”.

Hi @kfeina - thanks for bringing this up. Yes, I agree this can be a bit confusing. Unfortunately for technical reasons it’s currently difficult for us to show the current version of a bundled application (one that has not yet been overridden by a new installed version). Once you install a new version, as you’ve seen, you’ll be able to see and manage the version number directly and can even downgrade to an old version if you want.

We are working to improve the technical issue which causes this (see DHIS2-7154 and DHIS2-16984), so in the future it should be possible to see the version of bundled apps also in the App Management interface.

Thanks for the suggestion @ataallah - actually, this is already possible! For any app, whether bundled or installed, built with the App Platform you can click the profile menu button (in the top-right of the screen) and it will show you the current version of DHIS2 as well as the current version of the app you’re using. Hope this helps solve your issue as well @kfeina !
