App installation failed using Appstore

I recently uploaded a build [v1.4.3-beta], with the release channel set to Development. The application was successfully uploaded and is listed in the app store. However, when trying to install the app in any DHIS2 play instance, I encountered the following error.

I also tried using the Canary release channel but faced the same issue.

To verify further, I tested the application in two ways:

  1. I manually downloaded the app using the “Download” button from the app version listing and installed it via App Management in the same DHIS2 play instance, and it worked fine.
  2. I changed the release channel to Stable for testing, and everything worked smoothly — I was able to install the app without any issues.

Could this be a bug on the DHIS2 end? What might be causing this issue with the app marked as Development/Canary?

Please assist!

Hi @ravibagul91

Welcome back to the community!

I’m not able to find the app in the apps.dhis2.org page. Would you please double check that you’ve followed the following instructions on How to submit an app to the DHIS2 App Hub | DHIS2 Developer Portal?

Thanks!

Hi @Gassim,

Our app is available for DHIS2 versions 2.30 to 2.40.
You can also access the app here: DHIS2 App Hub

Hi @ravibagul91

It’s interesting that the API says app not found although it’s in the JSON response for the app, see screenshot:

It’s possible that this is a bug but I couldn’t find another app that has stable vs development. I’m triaging to the team about this and see if we could get any insights.

Update: this is now reported as a bug ([DHIS2-18186] - Jira) please feel free to add any additional input. More than happy to add you as the reporter if leave a comment in the Jira issue, and if you watch the ticket, you will receive updates.
