We would like to announce the 6 finalists of the DHIS2 Web and Android App Competition!
We received many high quality and very impressive applications from the DHIS2 community, and the decision to select only 6 was not an easy one!
Each finalist will make a presentation of their app on Thursday, June 23 • 12:15 CET during the 2022 DHIS2 Digital Annual Conference and conference participants will be able to choose the winner.
Before the presentations on Thursday, we invite all conference participants to review these applications in advance and come prepared to vote for your favorite application.
CCM-App by Filip Larsen (Master student at UiO)
This application was piloted in the province of Zambezia in Mozambique March-April 2022. The audience is users from health facility to national level, the end users off the application is health facility workers, as they are the one capturing data into DHIS2. The impact of this application is better Cold Chain Monitoring, for instance - proving vaccines at facility level function. Better CCM facilitate eradicate known diseases like polio. Another impact is that decision makers in DHIS2 gets access to a new data value (Temperature), Beside CCM can this be used to supervise stocks at facilities, and identify problems with Cold Chain Equipment. Malaria Routine Data Quality Assessment Tool (M-RDQA) by John Snow, Inc. (Diao Diallo, Michael Mwabaze, Romain Tohouri, Christina Villella)
The M-RDQA is an android app used to facilitate data collection of information on data quality for routine malaria reporting from health facilities. The app employs internationally standardized metrics to evaluate the completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of routine data for malaria. The app is intended to be used as part of routine supervision by district health teams or malaria program managers. The app is accompanied by a “DHIS 2 Configuration Package” which includes meta data and dashboards to permit the uploading of results from supervisory visits to the national instance of DHIS 2 where it can be aggregated with results from other supervisory visits for the same purpose in the country. The aggregate data on data quality for malaria can be evaluated by sub-national unit and over time to permit a more centralized and standard approach to data quality monitoring and response. The app is open source and can be easily adapted to other health and disease programs. Demo video
UDSM by UDSM (Rajab Mkomwa, Jesse-justin Mdachi)
The app is part of the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response. Diseases that need to be monitored to ensure that outbreaks are responded to in time by responsible personnel to ensure outbreaks are contained.
The app uses:
Aggregate architecture to report weekly reportable diseases
Tracker to report diseases that need immediate response and follow-up
Notifications to notify accordingly
It uses the D2-Touch SDK to interact with the DHIS2 API to realize the above functionalities.
The app is being rolled out throughout Tanzania to improve disease reporting. Demo video
Crosscut Microplanning by Crosscut (Manuel Coite)
The Crosscut DHIS2 app is designed for the non-technical user. The app lets you create catchment areas boundaries for your health facilities and publish them to DHIS2, create visualizations and maps in DHIS2 by combining the catchment areas with DHIS2 reporting data, generate target population estimates for each catchment area to quickly calculate coverage estimates and see travel time to health facilities within the catchment area to support outreach and session planning. User-Extended App by EyeSeeTea SL (Ignacio Foche Pérez)
An app that extends the official User App capabilities, in particular, apart from the normal edition of a user, allowing the user to apply bulk actions on the users, and to export the users into a CSV file, modify the users externally and then import the users back. Demo Video
Program Indicator Disaggregator by HISP Tanzania (Gift Nnko)
The program indicator disaggregation app is a tool designed to ease the process of managing program indicators that require disaggregations. It allows a user to define program indicator details, an expression, and filter once and then use the definition to automatically generate disaggregated program indicators. The application also allows the user to modify the main indicator and the modifications will be propagated to the disaggregated. Demo Video
