We have just started a Event Surveillance Project to be implmented at a community level using the Android Capture App. There are two things that we would like to find out about the Capture App:
Can SMS be send to a hotline number with a gateway configured on DHIS write directly into a Tracker Program?
Is it possible to default the username or name of the user capturing records be automattically filled in without asking the user to retype their details everytime they capture new records?
the Android Capture app is able to send tracker data by SMS only when the internet connection is not available. The Android app will use the settings configured in the Android Settings web app (check the docs here and this section in particular).
It shouldn’t matter whether the gateway is using a hotline number or a regular number. The important part is to have the gateway properly configured to communicate with DHIS2.
Regarding the second question, I am not sure about the screen you mentioned. Which screen is asking for the user details every time they capture new records?
Thanks Victor. We will look at the docs you referenced for the SMS configurations.
The second question is when you require a user to input their name when they capture data so that you can pull the data in reports if you need to. In our program it is a DE that they complete every time they submit data. The screenshot is an example of our used case. So I was checking if we could have this automatically filled in.
