Advancing NTD Data Management and Reporting
Our work demonstrates the power of DHIS2 in transforming NTD program management through innovative data integration and real-time monitoring. Key features of our approach include: Comprehensive Program Integration: DHIS2 serves as a central platform for integrating diverse datasets from various NTD programs being reported, including LF, Onchocerciasis, Schistosomiasis, and STH. This integration allows for a holistic view of NTD interventions, optimizing resource allocation and program coordination. Real-Time Monitoring & Geospatial Analytics: Using geospatial tools and interactive dashboards, we monitor treatment coverage, disease prevalence, and progress across Local Government Areas (LGAs), wards, and communities. This real-time data empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions and respond swiftly to emerging challenges. Data Quality Assurance: Through a rigorous system of validation rules and automated quality control checks, we ensure that data entered into DHIS2 is accurate, reliable, and consistent. This enhances the credibility of program reporting and supports data-driven decision-making. Impact Measurement & Program Optimization: By analyzing DHIS2 data, we assess the efficiency and effectiveness of MDA campaigns and other NTD control measures, evaluating their impact on disease prevalence, coverage rates, and overall program success. The SARMAAN project exemplifies DHIS2’s ability to drive impactful change in public health, especially in the management and reporting of NTDs. By sharing our experiences and best practices, we aim to inspire public health professionals to use DHIS2 not only for NTD reporting but also to enhance broader health interventions and outcomes across diverse disease areas.
