When creating data elements in DHIS2, it’s easy to focus on making the names descriptive.
For example:
Total NCD Patients Registered
Number of Patients Prescribed 10,000 Steps
They seem perfectly reasonable.
But as your metadata library grows, small naming decisions have a big impact on how easy it is to search, organise, and maintain your system.
In this short video, I share one implementation lesson I learned after receiving valuable feedback from an experienced DHIS2 implementer following this post:
Sometimes it’s the smallest improvements that make the biggest difference over time.
I’d love to hear your own metadata naming practices as well.
