A new version of the DHIS2 Android App is out today.
1.0.4 is a bug fixing version, and includes some functional improvements as well.
There is no new DHIS2 version compatibility (currently 2.29 and 2.30).
This new version fixes the instability introduced 1.0.3 by the tablet view. There also fixes on Relationships, Data entry form /value types, TEI Dashboard/Tracker programs, Program Rules and others like sync and log-in processes.
The functional improvements include the possibility to delete local data without logging out and we have incorporated the consumption of the back/end rule engine.
Remember that, if you need to take screenshots or broadcast your screen for training purposes or demos sessions, there is a Training APK available in Github.
All this information is also available in the Android Section of the DHIS2 web site!
The new DHIS2 Android App is compatible from 2.29 onwards, for compatibility with earlier versions you need to use the legacy Apps. We also maintain those for now, but they will be eventually deprecated. We hope you can upgrade your server before that.
Many thanks for the 1.0.4 update and congrats on the incredible progress!
What is the timeline for including the aggregate data model in the new Android app? The only timeline I’ve seen is this one: “Aggregated data model (datasets) available from October 2018 (Android version 1.1)” from Android Overview - DHIS2
Apologies if I’ve missed this information elsewhere.
Thanks for the 1.0.4 release - we’ve been eagerly awaiting it and appreciate all your work.
I noted that the linked documentation cover page seems to indicate that it actually hasn’t been updated for 1.0.4 (looks like last update to the docs were 1.0.3). As many of the fixes we had been awaiting were related to the fixes on program rules and sync you alluded to, is there anywhere the community can find documentation of what has changed specifically between 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 in this area?
thank your for your email. During 2018 we are putting all efforts on making the app stable and we have had to postpone the inclusion of the aggregate model. Since the old Data Capture Android App was pretty stable, we considered more urgent to stabilize the new App for the Tracker and Event models before adding more complexity to it.
We don’t have a concrete roadmap for now, as we are going through a re-prioritisation process, but will release Aggregate for sure during the first half of 2019. In the meantime, we will most likely make the old app compatible with 2.31 in January 2019.
Will share more detailed information on the new App roadmap as soon as we have it. Thanks for catching the outdated comment on the web. We have changed it now.

Hello,
You may give a try dhis2 touch, it does support custom forms in aggregate data entry, event capture and tracker capture as well. Though custom forms have not been thoroughly tested for tracker.
Kindly confirm. During our Tracker training at Zanzibar, we wrer told that the latest Android app does not work in tablets. Have this issue been fixed?
