Dear community members,

We are excited to announce the launch of the new DHIS2 for Education/EMIS Community Meetup! This is your chance to connect directly with the DHIS2 Education team, Ministry of Education representatives, and other community members working on Education Management Information System (EMIS) projects around the world.

We want this first meetup to be as valuable as possible, which means starting with a topic that matters most to you. We have put together a poll with some suggestions, but we want your input to choose the final topic.

My vote is for Data Use for School Improvement Planning.

While significant progress has been made in collecting and reporting education data through EMIS platforms, a persistent challenge remains the effective use of data at decentralized levels for evidence-based decision-making. This topic addresses the critical gap between data production and data utilization.

I am particularly interested in discussions on how DHIS2-based EMIS implementations can support school-level planning, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and accountability through actionable dashboards, indicators, and analytics. It would also be valuable to explore governance frameworks, data quality assurance mechanisms, and strategies for strengthening data literacy among education stakeholders.

A focus on translating data into measurable school improvement outcomes would provide practical insights for both policymakers and system implementers working to institutionalize a culture of data use across the education sector.
