We have created a dashboard for every country that we are working in. Some of these countries have granted us permission to share their data publicly, but only the aggregated data collected at the national level (i.e. not the children such as provinces/districts as this must remain confidential for the country).
We have created users by Org unit and assigned the relevant users to their own org unit. In addition, on the dashboards, we have enabled “Public access” option with a view only status so that all users can see that dashboard. However, the data on the dashboard of other countries is not viewable as permission has not been granted in their user status.
The problem comes in when you grant permission under User - if you enable access to the other countries under the “Data output and analysis organisation units” section, then all of the children of those Org units are selected with no option to only select a certain Org Unit level.
Is there some sort of way around this so that other countries can only see the visuals on each other’s dashboards? (All of the visuals on the country dashboards are aggregated national level data).
I hope that this makes sense.
Your help would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Terence

The only workaround is if the users have access to dashboards only and not access to analytics tools where the objects are created so as not to be able to drill down.
Otherwise once you grant access to the parent orgunit then they will have access to children orgunits and this is the power of DHIS2 that you can drill down especially when conducting data error and issues checks.

Thank you very much for the response. Unfortunately, we cannot create the user roles to view Dashboards alone as the users will still need to be able to make their own visuals for their country.
Our solution to this issue will therefore be to have an external webpage where the selected visuals from each of the dashboards are then embedded into the page for public view, and the dashboards within the DHIS2 instance remain confidential to each country with user roles per Org Unit only.
