Understanding the 'relativePeriodDate' property

Hello devs

We are leveraging the “relativePeriodDate” parameter on the DHIS2 chart plugin.

Say we want data starting July 2016 for the last 3 months i.e. May, June and July 2016.

Logically we think of 2016-07-31 as the relativePerioDate to fetch data for the above example. But when we do so we get the data starting June and backwards.

It’s like sending “October 2016” to get data from September 2016 and backwards.

Is this the way its supposed to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Good morning Vanya,

the relative period functionality always returns the last X “closed” months. For fetching the ongoing period you need to select the option: this month.

It is consistent with the behavior that you described, so I think that you will need to send 2016-08-01 as the relativePerioDate to get the dates that you want.

Cheers,

Marta
