reporting rate summary options in 2.9

Just curious: in 2.9 was the option in reporting rate summary to select “Based on number of registered data values” supposed to be dropped? I found it useful.

Hi Tom,

sorry about that. The reason for removing it is that we recommend
people not to store zero values and rather rely on completeness
registrations and compulsory data elements to measure reporting rates.
Then this option would give very low scores and caused a lot of
questions.

Thanks, Lars. That makes sense. I was using it as a way to see if some reporting went on even if they didn't click the registration button.

We found it quite useful as well for the same purpose and a bit
surprised to see it removed, but basically the same thing can be
accomplished through the data browser, which will also give you a
sense of the amount of data, regardless of whether it has been
completed or not.

Jason

Yup. We can put it back if it is critical.

In case you are not aware of it.. Another way of doing what you say is
to set up the compulsory data elements. Click on the "edit compulsory
data elements" and set those data elements who will always have data.
Then the reporting rates will be based on the number of data sets
where those data elements have data (when selecting that option in
reporting rate viewer).

Thanks all for your great views, dear Lars, related to the compulsary data element, if may be you have one dataset and you find all data elements are compulsary can it make sense to make them all compulsary?? completeness rate wil be based on all data elements??
