These notifications are sent when a program rule is triggered during data entry. But this program rule needs to have the program rule action “Send message” for this to happen.
When you configure a program rule and choose the “Send message” action, the following menu comes up:
The message templates are then the ones you have configured through the Program (stage) notification.
