Problem with strange characters appearing in tracker module text fields

Hi all,

Some of the data entry clerks have been entering strange data in some of the text fields of the tracker module in our Death Audit forms. I think it is due to the character sets on their keyboards. As a result we have fields like:

bebe%20murorunkwere%20donatha%20gakuru

This causes the analytics module to fail and it also does not allow us to export the data correctly.

I’ve searched and replaced most of the special characters, but I can’t figure out how to search for %20, since the percent sign is used as a wildcard. Any suggestions on how to find and replace these characters with spaces?

Hi Randy,
Seems strange, because %20 is the HTML encoding for a space. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp

Seems like something else to me.

Regards,

Jason
