Problem loading pivot table results

Dear DHIS2 community,

We are using DHIS2 2.24. When we are running pivot table and are using some indicators by selecting the lowest level of OrgUnit (Community Health Workers), the application is running without any results output (an illustration is attached). The application is only responding when we are going up to a higher level in the OrgUnit tree. Are there some memories parameters to tune or what should be done to troubleshoot this issue, as we really need the results presented with the lowest OrgUnit. In the server side, we are using 16 cores CPU and 64 Gb of RAM.

Thank you for your support,

Regards,

Tantely.

Hi

This is a common problem - the pivot table app cannot process/display larger sets of data, which is typically what you get when selecting the lowest OU level.

Try dumping the result out into another format (CSV, Excel), and then process that into the report format you want.

Regards

Calle

Dear Calle,

Thank you for your suggestions. In order to dump the results, I have to lower the number of OrgUnits by splitting them by parents OrgUnits and loop the process unitl all OrgUnits are done.

Hi Tantely,

You can dump larger chunks of data by doing the following:

  • Open the pivot tables app

  • Select what you need in the left menu

  • Do not click “update” - instead click the small down-arrow next to the update button and download as CSV

You maybe getting a “HTTP Error 414 Request URI too long” error in the browser. This happens when the URL generated by the client is too big to be handled by the HTTP server. Check the JS console in the browser and see.

Jan’s method may work, but it will not work if you are getting that error.

Jason

As long as you are selecting orgunits by level, and not explicitly, that should not be a problem.

Hi Jan, Jason,

Thank you for this suggestion! Clicking on csv under update is working! It is giving the raw data with only the selected dataelements in the query in the left side. It seems interesting, I only have to build the crosstabulation in the spreadsheet.

Also, could you please mention the step-by-step way in order to change the parameters in the browser JS console to handle a big URL? Or it will affect system stability? I am using Mozilla Firefox.

Regards,

Tantely.
