Problem generating reporting & analytics tables. (dhis 2.16)

Dear All,

I am facing a problem in the reporting & Analytics module of DHIS 2.16 (latest revision)

When I try to generate the analytics tables from the reporting module, the system displays the progress bar and freeze their forever and so no reporting can be created since this is process is failing.

I tried it on new & clean database without any data and still no success.

Then I tried to generate resource tables from the data maintenance section. Here the progress bar showed for a couple of seconds and then it displayed the following error message:

Process failed: Illegal instant due to time zone offset transition (daylight savings time ‘gap’): 1975-04-30T22:00:00.000 (Asia/Beirut)

So, it seems that generating analytics tables is actually failing because it is trying to generate the resource tables first and this is causing it to freeze.

I am using the local instance of dhis 2.16 on windows 7 + latest java update. The database is postgres 9.3.

Note that I tried it also on the local H2 database and it still fails.

Please, how I resolve this issue? Note: My windows machine time zone is set to è (UTC+02:00) Beirut.

Hi Knut,

Please find the attached log file. You can find the error in the last line of the file.

It seems it is occurring while generating the “_dateperiodstructure” table.

Actually, I don’t have any data in 1975. However, when I added the org units to the system, I set the opening date to an arbitrary date of 01/01/1970 for all org units. I don’t know if this is related to the problem.

To check this, I changed the opening dates to “01/01/2013” and the problem still exists.

Actually, as I previously indicated, the error is appearing on a clean database without adding anything to it.

Note: I am using v 2.16 rev. 16320 .

Please do you have any update or feedback on this issue.

I am still unable to find a solution or fix for this.

Note that I did try a clean installation for both v2.15 and 2.16 on my machine.

Ver 2.15 worked well è it generated the analytics tables.

While 2.16 raised this error:

Process failed: Illegal instant due to time zone offset transition (daylight savings time ‘gap’): 1975-04-30T22:00:00.000 (Asia/Beirut)

Dear Morten & developers,

As described in my previous mail, the error that is appearing when generating the analytics/resource tables is probably related to the current time zone setting on my pc which is è (UTC+2 Beirut/Lebanon).

The error is also indicating that it is related to daylight saving gap.

So, what I did is that I removed the automatic daylight saving on my PC as indicated in the below picture (temporarily just to test this issue).

I restarted the DHIS server & tried to regenerate the analytics tables and it went successfully without any errors.

So, just removing the auto daylight saving eliminated the problem.

However, I need to keep daylight saving enabled so I appreciate if this bug is resolved ASAP.

It seems it is occurring while generating the “_dateperiodstructure” table.

Actually, I don’t have any data in 1975. However, when I added the org units to the system, I set the opening date to an arbitrary date of 01/01/1970 for all org units. I don’t know if this is related to the problem.

To check this, I changed the opening dates to “01/01/2013” and the problem still exists.

Actually, as I previously indicated, the error is appearing on a clean database without adding anything to it.

Note: I am using v 2.16 rev. 16320 .

Please find the attached log file. You can find the error in the last line of the file.

It seems it is occurring while generating the “_dateperiodstructure” table.

Actually, I don’t have any data in 1975. However, when I added the org units to the system, I set the opening date to an arbitrary date of 01/01/1970 for all org units. I don’t know if this is related to the problem.

To check this, I changed the opening dates to “01/01/2013” and the problem still exists.

Actually, as I previously indicated, the error is appearing on a clean database without adding anything to it.

Note: I am using v 2.16 rev. 16320 .

Note that I tried it also on the local H2 database and it still fails.

Please, how I resolve this issue? Note: My windows machine time zone is set to è (UTC+02:00) Beirut.
