We need help. In India , we have a local requirement and for that we need an extra column in orgnisationunit table for the url of that particular orgnisationunit so that we can link that corresponding organisationunit to a perticular link. In other words, we need a new field “url” where we can store some url for that perticular orgnisationunit.
That should be doable. What I’m wondering is where you would like to see and access this URL?
In Organisation Unit Management where you can list all orgunits under a selected parent (in the tree), should we add a new icon in the Operations area that open a new web page with the orgunit URL? Would that be enough?

Yes exactly what we are expecting. It will be batter if this will be like that if some body can click on the “information” button then also someone can see the url of that particular orgnisationunit and this url might be hyper linked to some other site.
So need to things
1.Hyperlinked “url” icon in the operation area in the Organisationunit Management where we can list all orgunits under a selected parent in the tree with each corresponding orgunits
Hyperlinked “url” in the information box as well of that organisationunit.
And this is because there is a local requirement that peopel want to see some more information about that orgnisation unit or facility like infrastructural detail, availability , rechability , communication details, estibleshments etc means more information about that facility which is going to provided by their own sits but should be linked with online DHIS2 some how.
Thanks

That makes the code less table, at least very untested and NOT recommended for production use. The recent 2.0.1 release is the one recommended for production until August 1 and the new 2.0.2 release is out.
The requested feature can of course be done before August 1 and be available in trunk/ before that date, but then as I said as part of a less stable DHIS 2 application, the in-development code (trunk): https://code.launchpad.net/~dhis2-devs-core/dhis2/trunk
Lars is very busy at the moment with other pressing work for 2.0.2 so he will not be able to do this for a while. If you need this before August 1, I suggest some of the HISP India developers start looking at this for now. It should possible to understand how to make this extension by looking at the existing orgunit code. I am also sure Lars or others can provide feedback and help if the HISP India developers post questions/suggestions on how to do it on this list.

yes i have just tested it but i am surprised that in the information window it is not showing hyperlinked url address.
It is just showing url without hperlinked. We according to our specification, in the information box , url address should be hyperlinked.
