Matrix selection plugin for Capture

Hello,

Our colleagues Christine and Henrik have made a plugin for entering data as a matrix or likert scale, and we wanted to share it with the community.

To Configure:

Install the plugin

Manually: https://github.com/dev-otta/matrix-select-plugin/releases
App Hub: (Coming soon! Awaiting approval)

  • Once you install the plugin you need to use the “Tracker Plugin Configurator” app to configure the plugin.

  • Important! the data elements must use the same option set!

  • You will then need to use the datastore to hide the data elements and ensure all data entry happens through the plugin.

  • For detailed info on configuration see the readme on our github https://github.com/dev-otta/matrix-select-plugin

And as always do not install in a production instance without testing first!

Thanks for sharing this. This is very interesting feature! I have a feeling that many will find it useful but they just need to know it’s here. :grin:

Curious to see how it looks like in the Data Visualizer app when in using tables/charts?

It should just record the data in the respective dataElements using single or multiselect option sets. So from the Data visualizer, there should be no difference. Right @henrikmv?

That makes sense! :plus: We’re using the same metadata just displaying it differently.

I like how the ‘tab’ button shifts vertically and using the arrows we can select the option. I remember in some instances in the legacy data entry, it was difficult for users to navigate that way when using the tab button. :clap:
