Line Listing app - Retrieve data from two different events

Hello,

We need to have the reports to get the data from two different events in same program. We have tried using Line Listing app, but the we are not able to get the Event date for both of the programs stage.

How can we retrieve Event Dates for program stage events in Line Listing when working with multiple program stage data.

Thank you for your patience. I was investigating this and I almost shared the YouTube video you with you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juOy38ZNLbA) but then I realized that it’s possible to add data elements from multiple program stages but not the event date for the multiple program stages in the same line list table - which helped me think of a workaround, maybe (will get into this at the end of the post).

You are correct about not being able to include multiple program stages’ event dates in one Line List table. This is actually one of the feedback given from the community, @kstankevitz:

In Enrollment line lists, when using Repeated Events or data from multiple program stages, adding a column for the event date would be really useful. For example, I want to see how many people who tested positive in the HIV Testing program stage have the ART (treatment) program stage completed. And I want to know the date of both the test and the treatment.

And there is a feature request which was for the Event Reports app but probably it’s the same idea for the Line Listing app: Jira (cc: @Karoline)

As for the workaround that I would like to suggest for now is that since it’s possible to add data elements from multiple program stages, you could potentially create a date data element in each program stage and use a program rule to assign the it the ‘event date’ built-in value. After that you will be able to select this as a data element when using the enrollment input. How’d this work in reality when applying, I’ve not reproduced but I believe it should work except I think it’ll require a bit more work to make the program rules trigger for the older events.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, creating data elements is one of the thing we can do, but that too require us to think about data which are already been entered. So as of now we have created Line Listing with this limitation.
