Lack of filtering persistence - setting or design?

Hi,

I’m using 2.24. I have not found a way to make a filtered list persist across record operations. Is there a setting for this?

Example:

  • I have a list of let us say 500 data elements.

  • I filter the list for the word “malaria”, yielding let us say 15 DEs. I want to edit several of these.

  • If I open any of them for editing and then save again, the filter is gone

  • and I have to add the filter again. (and again).

This is annoying, and I’m pretty sure filter persistence is used in some areas and/or was used in previous versions. This makes a lot more sense to me, since removing the filter is quick (click on the x)

If there’s no setting, I will add a blueprint for it.

Regards

Calle

Hey Calle,

There is no setting for this.

The persistent search state was brought up earlier and we have a github issue for it[1].

Due to a change of priority it’s probably not going to make it for the next release, so unfortunately you’re going to have to wait a while.

Mark/Lars,

OK, noted - it’s mainly an efficiency issue, so I’m fine with you guys aiming for 2.26.

Hi,

In the same vein, please be aware that in some areas the list of items does not re-appear when you have edited items. Examples:

  • When editing option sets and save, you usually have to click “option Set” again to see the list

  • When editing/adding users and saving, I often see the same behaviour (list appears empty until you click on “User” again).

Minor irritant, but you might as well fix it when fixing the filter persistence

Calle
