Issue with Program Stages

Hi Everyone,

This is a bit similar to another thread regarding Event Capture app
not loading but I did not want to hijack it.

I am having several programs where my program stages are not
displaying in the UI of the application. When I browse the API, I see
the program stages listed; however I don't see them displayed when I
try to manage them through the programs management section. As a
result, the event capture app is not loading I believe.

I don't think there is even an option to delete program stages so I am
not sure what happened here? Any insight would be really appreciated.

Hi,

If you are able to see your stages through the web-api and the stages have data elements, the event capture app should work. The app uses only the web-api.

Thank you,

Hi Abyot,
I took a look at Nick’s database, and for some reason, there are programstages which are missing a program. This seems (strangely) to be possible, as the programid in programstage is NULLABLE. Any idea about how this may have happened?

Jason

Is it one or many stages?

Not really sure how a stage without program existed.

I remember earlier it was like first you create a stage and assign the stage to a program … this was long time back. may be you have some legacy data …

Another obvious possibility is direct manipulation of the tables. Or probably, a program is deleted through the UI but the process somehow failed to remove programstage… but I don’t know.

There were about 5 programstages which did not have a program. I am not sure how this happen, but suspect it had to do with deletion of something, which went badly wrong. After directly assigning a program to each of the program stages which were missing one, we could see the program stages again.

I think that “programid” should not be allowed to be NULL then, if program stages cannot exist without a program? Or is this something which is maybe missing in this version of the database?
