How to navigate the jira?

Hi,

I’ve have been asked to add items to jira such as features (could also be helpful for bug reporting) but I find the Jira quite difficult to navigate.

Is there a how-to for navigating and posting on the Jira for an external person?

Thank you for your post. I did a quick one minute screen recording for creating the account and up until opening the form to create a feature request or a bug issue.

Mainly, most of the issues go to DHIS2 Software project or Android App for DHIS2’s Jira project, so you’d only need to be concerned with these two Jira projects when creating Bug or Feature issues on Jira.

The form when creating the Jira issue has many fields but there are required ones:

  • Summary - provide a quick explanation of the issue
  • Component - is it App or API, and which component?
  • Description is not required but it’s the most important part that will be read by everyone including the developers so it’s best to be as detailed as possible with steps to reproduce or screenshots and if it’s a feature request then it’s recommended to include the use case in the description. Make sure to include the DHIS2 version number you are working on as well.
  • Labels isn’t required but it can be helpful. The label can be the organization you are working for, and CoP if it has been discussed and shared with the community.
