I am just wondering if anyone has ever found a way to close the organizational unit in DHIS2 that is no longer functioning. The “closed” field that is available in the organizational unit information does not work unless the dataset itself is removed from the organization unit.
We still maintain a separate record in excel to monitor the reporting rate for health facilities and update it as more information about the health facility and the reporting is available. It will be ideal if this can be automated in DHIS2 to avoid confusion from users.

Closing, opening, Reopening status have been challenging to implement in DHIS2 atleast we have been discussing this for years now and I have come to appreciate that its very difficult to implement.
I would advise you either use Orgunits groups and introduce Reporting and Non Reporting Orgunits; or you can use Attributes (Data Administration==> Attribute) to keep record of current reporting Orgunits.
This way you can use Orgunits groups in analytics.

Thank you so much for your response. My apology it took me years to respond. I’ve just joined back the Community awhile ago after being disconnected for so long.
Is the response to my query still valid for version 2.27? Will try it out.
