I am experiencing an issue with the Event Reports app where I am unable to change the order of columns in a Line List. When I click “Layout,” and change the column order in “Column dimensions,” the display order in the line list does not change. In addition, changing the order that data elements are selected in the “Selected data elements” pane does not affect the order either.
Is there another way to change the column order in a line list?
Note: I am using Version 2.39.1.2
Considering that the ‘Event Reports app’ is no longer under development, would you please try to make use of the Line Listing app which replaces (and adds more functionalities than) the Event Reports app?

I am about to upgrade from 2.36 to 2.40. And found really strange that all column orders in event reports has mixed and I lost the fields orders. This is really strange and inconvenient.
As long as the version of DHIS2 getting higher more new fields added into the events report app. This obviously requires to do a lot of work on our custom reports as well.
Therefore I have few questions for you:
Could you provide an explanation why the app fields order has been changed?
What is the algorithm of selecting the fields order when the data return?
Would it possible to leave/keep/return as it was before?
Is there ability to use/export all existing event reports in new Line listing app?
The reason why I am asking such questions is I have built many custom reports and event reports, where I rely on certain locations(positions) of the DEs\TEAs in returning json data. Based on the locations I am doing some calculations, comparisons or manipulations. And now I may need to rework a lot of reports.
Moreover my users already get used to see in specific order some of DEs/TEAs, which is more predictable and easy to find inside the reports. I believe for me and other users would be much easier and convenient to leave the events reports json data returning functionality as it was.

Appreciate your response! The Line Listing app does resolve the problem I was having above. However, I have run into the issue that Line Lists cannot be added to dashboards - is this the case?
Yes, they can be added to the dashboards, so if you copy the name of the favorite and search for it, you will be able to find it.
I share these same problem here. This issue was introduced in the recent version of the Event Reports app, it would be good to have it resolved before the app is abandoned as we work on recreating the previous saved lists.
Would you share a screenshot of before and after?
