This could be related to the pipe (|) issue of tomcat and our apps we have been discussing.

It seems you have the problem with the | character.
Any chance you can try to upgrade to a more recent version of DHIS2?
If not, did you recently update your Tomcat version? Maybe as part of upgrading Ubuntu?

The only way I know of fixing this issue is to upgrade DHIS2, or downgrade Tomcat.

Regarding upgrading we are planning to do so next days, but by now we are busy working with data and we are stuck because of this issue.
