I have encountered an issue regarding the description of fields in Android Capture. The problem is that the description is not shown when the field is assigned a value via program rules. For instance, in below screenshot “BMI description” is not shown because it’s auto-calculated via a program rule:
I have already reported the bug on Jira but I’m looking to possible creative workaround while it’s being addressed by the development team.

In terms of ‘creative workaround’, depends on what you’d like to achieve. For instance, you could have a temporary field right below it which is locked but shows only the description. Or another suggestion could be to create a program rule that will ‘display text’ in one of the widgets.

In terms of workarounds, another option could be to include a short hint directly in the data element name.

Many thanks @Gassim @nancyesp for your ideas. I’ve also just noticed that description field is not shown for “multi-select” at all in the Android app, no matter the field is enabled or disabled.
We’re aware of this issue. It’s already been addressed and will be fixed in the upcoming 3.4 release (planned for May).
