Can we use one data element for calculated values as well as for text values in term of logistics data in aggregate data reporting?
If we can not use one data element for both then how can we combine two data elements calculated values and text values in data visualizer in order to get combine correct report?
A data element can only be of one type, but it’s possible to create an indicator for the data element. For example, if the data element is a option set of type text, we could still create an indicator to count the options.
It would help more if you could share the use case; however, in the case where it’s not possible to use the indicators and the values need to be entered and calculated in a certain way then you might need to create two separate data elements.
Probably testing this would be the best option! Although it is possible to display data elements of different types, but I’m not sure what is the expected output here, so if you could create samples and test the outcome. It would be great to know what the findings are please.
First scenario: I have a data element under the name of “Acetazolamid. 250mg tab-CL” the data type of this element is integer in order to create auto values with the help of predictors, here i can not enter text values (screenshot for support).
Second scenario: I have another data element “Acetazolamid. 250mg tab” the data type of this element is long text, here i want to save batch number as well as expiry date for “Acetazolamid. 250mg tab-CL” calculated value (screenshot for support).
If i do the same as above then i should have two datasets and two data elements to manage number as well as text values.
The question is: (1) is there any way to link both data elements in aggregate reporting (as Ms Access relationship)?
(2) or how to visulize both data elements data in data visualizer to show resemblance between mentioned data elements?
Note: i have upgraded my instance to 2.38.4.3 for showing text in data visualizer.
