# Data element from the newest event in the current program not working

I’ve implemented an event program, where data needs to be captured for a specific org unit on a daily basis, and within each event, a carry over value from the previous entry needs to be added, which we try and do with program rules, but doesn’t seem to be working correctly as it always returns a zero value, even though there is data on it, any possible suggestions? We are using 2.37.6
