Customizing Organization Units

When customizing organisation units in DHIS2, we are required to enter the dates when the facilities were established. For example, if a health facility was established in the 1990s, the opening date would reflect a year from that period.

My question is: if the facility was established long ago (e.g., in the 1990s), but as a system designer I also want to monitor whether the facility staff submit data on time now, how should I handle the opening and closing dates? Do these historical establishment dates affect data submission checks, and how should I adjust the dates if needed?

Hello @AndrewMussA

Here recommended configuration for datasets for timely reporting

  • Opening date

Use DHIS2 reporting start date, not construction year

  • Closing date

Only when permanently closed

  • Dataset deadline

Use “deadline days” for timely reporting

  • Timely reporting

Completion date ≤ deadline

  • Dataset assignment

Only assign to reporting facilities

  • Status

Use Active/Suspended/Closed

  • Geometry

Ensure correct coordinates

  • Org units

Clean hierarchy and naming conventions

I’m sure you can do it
